Adam Idah has found himself at the centre of a bizarre transfer rumour on Wednesday night, with reports in Italy suggesting a potential move to Serie A side Udinese, just 12 months after signing a permanent deal at Celtic.

The 24-year-old striker, who scored 20 goals last season, including three in the Champions League, is reportedly on Udinese’s radar following Lorenzo Lucca’s transfer to Napoli.
However, the credibility of the link from Tutto Udinese is under question, with no suggestion from the Celtic end that the Irishman is for sale.
Idah’s current contract runs until 2029, and Brendan Rodgers has been vocal in his support for the forward, who has become an important part of the manager’s plans. Having made a major impact during his initial six-month loan spell from Norwich, Celtic stumped up a reported £9 million to bring him in permanently, making an exit this soon both unlikely and illogical.
The Hoops have added depth to their attacking ranks this summer, with Shin Yamada arriving from Japan and Callum Osmand joining from Fulham’s U21s on a development fee. However, neither are expected to immediately shoulder the goal burden, and Osmand has yet to feature at senior level. Johnny Kenny remains part of the squad, but he could yet head out on loan before the window closes.
There is no indication from inside Parkhead that Idah’s future is under any kind of review, and despite the Italian press running with the story, the suggestion of a move appears far-fetched at best. It’s one to keep an eye on, though.
