Ayrshire side Darvel FC have sent a message to Celtic via social media saying they’ll happily fill the gap left by Derry City FC after a friendly between Celtic and the Irish club was cancelled.
Dundalk then Derry City were pencilled in for a game at Celtic Park on Saturday but due to COVID restrictions, neither can fulfil the fixture.
The junior side cheekily offered to play Celtic at their home ground, Recreation Park this weekend.
Hi @CelticFC, we have heard a few issues about not being able to face your planned opponents at friendly games. Fancy a knock about at Recreation Park? #MTV 💙

You can’t blame them for trying! Celtic are looking to achieve tow things with friendlies at the weekend, match fitness and testing the new virtual season ticket system which will be rolled out to over 50k supporters for the first game of the season in August.
Maybe the lads from aye can make the trip to Celtic Park and get a kick about going.
It’s not ideal preparation for Celtic when they’re not even sure if and who they will be facing in two days time.
