Celtic have had their first formal bid for Josip Juranovic rejected by his current club Legia Warsaw according to reports in Scotland.
Sportowefakty claims the Hoops have put in a bid of over £2m for the defender but this has been knocked back. Celtic’s move for a right back has spanned the globe this summer but they’ve still to secure someone who will fit into Ange Postecoglou’s system.
At the moment, Anthony Ralston is Celtic’s only viable first team right back – the academy player acquitting himself well in the early going this term.
The Polish report also claims Celtic still feel confident they will get their man and the transfer fee Legia want isn’t a million miles away from where the Hoops are at the moment.
Celtic need to get a move on and get the players they need into the club. Josip fits the bill for a lot of what Ange wants to do.
The defender is also enjoying a sustained run in the Croatia national team which could be hiking up his price.
