Celtic youngster Rocco Vata has been at the centre of a wealth of transfer and contract speculation this summer. The Irish youth international was bred into the Hoops’ first team towards the end of last season but has been demoted to the B side so far in 2023/24.
It looks increasingly likely that Vata’s long-term future is away from Celtic, although according to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph, the club have recently rejected a bid for the 18-year-old. An unnamed English Premier League side reportedly offered the champions a £450,000 fee including add-ons and a sell-on clause.

Celtic, though, booted the offer out. The club have no plans to let Vata go this window as he counts towards the homegrown quota required for Europe. He has a year left on his deal, and even if he does sign for a club on a pre-contract in January, the Bhoys would be due £343,000 in compensation.
At least last season, the attacker looked like one of the foremost talents at Lennoxtown. He has fallen out of favour, though, and the situation between Vata and the club at the moment is not ideal.
