Benjamin Nygren has praised the Celtic fans after netting his first goal for the club in just his second competitive appearance, helping the Hoops to a 2-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

His all-round display earned him the man-of-the-match award as Celtic made it two wins from two in the league.
Nygren’s energy and work rate stood out, with the 24-year-old heavily involved in both attacking and defensive phases. He capped the performance by celebrating his goal directly in front of the travelling support.
Speaking after the game, Nygren stressed the importance of the fans to the club and described the connection he felt when celebrating with them.
He said: (Celtic FC YouTube), ”I think it was a very good game. Solid performance from everyone. I think especially the ones in the back played an amazing game. Also, it felt like Aberdeen couldn’t get through us, so I thought in general it was a very good performance. We had good control, so it was a perfect win and a clean sheet.
”Yes, that’s how I want to play. I can run a lot, so I want to be involved as much as possible and help the team to win. So, I’m very pleased with my performance and the team’s performance today.
”Amazing, amazing. A perfect cross from Kieran and a solid finish. I ran over to the fans and celebrated with them and the team. Amazing.
”For me, I’ve said it many times, football is nothing without the fans. Celtic is such a big club with lovely fans. Fans are a part of the team and a part of the club, so I’m so happy to celebrate with everyone.”
Nygren’s quick impact since arriving in Glasgow has given supporters plenty to be excited about, with his pace and movement adding another dimension to the attack.
The Swede’s goal and assist combination with Tierney was a standout feature of the Pittodrie victory.

His comments reflect the strong bond he is already building with the Celtic support, something that could make him a fan favourite in no time.
With more games ahead, Nygren will look to build on this start and continue making decisive contributions in the weeks to come.
