Amid a wealth of speculation about a potential Celtic exit, Benjamin Siegrist’s transfer from the Hoops to FC Rapid Bucuresti was made official last night.

The 32-year-old has signed a two-year deal with his new side, linking up with former Parkhead boss Neil Lennon.
The Celtic legend took up the role in Romania earlier this summer, and Siegrist became his seventh signing of the current transfer window.
After joining Rapid, the Swiss stopper spoke out, admitting that he is very much looking forward to linking up with Lennon.
“(I’m) really looking forward to working with Neil Lennon”, he said (FC Rapid on Instagram).
“I’ve only worked against him, but he’s a very big coach, a huge name in Celtic history.”
Monitoring the pair’s progress this season should be intriguing.
Rapid are a sleeping giant, and Lennon has a proven track record of bringing success to clubs both in Scotland and abroad.
His signing of Siegrist is a coup, and it does Celtic a favour, freeing up some wages from the club’s bill and clearing more deadwood from Brendan Rodgers’ squad.
The Parkhead boss is sorted in the goalkeeping department with Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo, Siegrist’s exit coming as a positive more than anything.
