Liverpool have reportedly turned down a £16m offer from Ipswich Town for 19-year-old Scotland international Ben Doak, just days after Crystal Palace lodged an initial £15m bid for the promising winger.

Doak, a product of the Celtic academy, has made waves since his move to Liverpool in 2022. Currently thriving on loan at Middlesbrough in the Championship, he has recorded two goals and five assists in 20 appearances, catching the eye of several clubs across England. His performances have also earned him recognition at the international level, with the youngster making his debut for Scotland earlier this year.
While Ipswich and Palace have tested Liverpool’s resolve with significant bids, the Anfield club views Doak as a long-term asset. Reports indicate that Liverpool want the winger to continue his loan spell at Middlesbrough, where he has been gaining valuable first-team experience under Michael Carrick’s guidance.
The Reds are said to be particularly impressed with the developmental strides Doak has made this season and believe he is on track to challenge for a place in Arne Slott’s first team in the future. For now, Liverpool appear unwilling to part with a player seen as a key prospect for the club’s future.
