According to the Lancashire Post, Celtic Target Ben Davies has been offered lucrative terms to sign a new deal with his current club Preston as the January window looms large.
Davies, 25, has less than a year left on his Preston contract and would be able to sign a pre-contract in January with any club looking to sign him for the summer.
Preston are trying to stop that from happening and hold onto their centre-back who has been at the club since 2013.
Glasgow live wrote back in September, Davies is ‘likely’ to sign a pre-contract with the Scottish champions but no concrete deal appears to be in the offing yet.
Davies can play central defence and left back; Celtic would be happy to wait for the defender to come in at the end of the season with all positions accounted for at the moment.
There will likely be defensive turnover for the club, no matter what, at the end of this campaign and having Davies lined up would be ideal.
