Shay Reid, a promising young footballer from Belfast, has secured a week-long trial with Celtic following an outstanding season with Cliftonville’s youth sides, as reported by Belfast Live.

The 15-year-old will join Celtic’s Under 18 squad next month, participating in training sessions and a friendly match as part of his trial, which will take place on July 12.
Reid’s journey to Glasgow comes after a remarkable year in which he scored 36 goals across Cliftonville’s Under 16 and 18 teams. His performances showcased his scoring ability while catching the attention of multiple clubs, including Hibs, who previously expressed interest in a trial earlier this year.
Reid is also a member of the Northern Ireland Under 16 squad.
There hasn’t been a wealth of young talents rising through the academy that have made it to the first team in recent years. Reid sure sounds like an exciting prospect but he is still young and developing in the game.
