Beale Has Celtic ‘Rattled’ – Barry Ferguson Joins in Ibrox Meltdown

The meltdown at Ibrox following Celtic’s 3-2 win in the Glasgow derby at the weekend has been greatly amusing for Hoops fans.

And now, former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson has come out and said Celtic were left ‘rattled’ by Michael Beale’s men and that the Hoops were there for the taking (Daily Record):

“The frustrating thing is that Celtic were there for the taking on Saturday.”

This simple statement in itself is greatly amusing. If Celtic were trully ‘there for the taking’, would it not be down to how poor Rangers were that they weren’t able to take advantage of it?

Furthermore, this puts even more shine onto Celtic’s triumph that they still managed to win despite not being at their best.

Later on in his column, Ferguson went on to say Celtic were ‘rattled’ by Rangers:

“They were rattled by the way in which Rangers were pressing them and harassing them all over the pitch and it showed in the number of slack passes and sloppy mistakes that they made.”

What Ferguson says here is deeply ironic. He is claiming that Celtic were left dumbfounded by Rangers’ pressing, which forced the Hoops into errors when in actual fact, it was the other way about for Celtic’s second and third goals.

The Hoops coaxed the Gers’ backline into mistakes, allowing the Bhoys to score.

The narrow-mindedness of Ferguson is clearly displayed here and throughout his latest column, which also shows how the former Gers midfielder is still down in the dumps following Saturday’s match.
