BBC Pundit Still Hurting from League Cup Final After St Johnstone Admission

BBC pundit and former Ibrox man Billy Dodds was almost thinking out loud as he spoke on air to BBC Scotland on Sunday after the Celtic vs St Johnstone tie.

Dodds clearly buffing up St Johnstone who did apply pressure for around ten minutes of the second half but the way the man goes on about the game makes you think Celtic didn’t have any chances in the game apart from their goal.

“I thought they deserved a replay (St Johnstone) – I’ve got to say. Celtic had chances, but then St Johnstone rallied and they had chances. They got them to a stage with 10 minutes to go where you could feel the tension. This game had everything.

“There was that pressure, there was desperation thrown in there at times. But then Celtic do what they do – they find a way. Sometimes I don’t know how they do it, but they get there. They get the free-kick, and it needed that one moment of quality from Christie.

“The Champions just keep finding a way to somehow win a game. They won that cup final (vs Rangers) – don’t know how they did.”

Celtic managed to grind out the result and instead of commending the team for doing so he can goes as far as bringing up the League Cup final where they managed to grind out the win against the Ibrox club.

It’s an old cliche, but it’s the mark of champions to keep doing what Celtic are doing.

Considering the pitch and the elements on Sunday, the bhoys did well to create as many chances as they did. Converting a free-kick in the end to win the game was enough and we advance. Billy is still scratching his head.
