BBC Pundit makes case for Neil Lennon to be given time

BBC Sport pundit James McFadden has made a case that Celtic manager, Neil Lennon

deserves more time as boss, as the club are going through their ‘first bad run’ under the Northern Irishman.

McFadden believes that after Lennon steadied the ship when he first came back to the club after Brendan Rodgers departure, he deserves the time that he has earned by doing this to turn things around once again.

As quoted by BBC Sport, McFadden said

It’s the first bad run Celtic have been on since Lennon’s returned. Look at the state of the club when he came in. Alright, the team had won trebles before that, but it was still a bit of a mess when he came in.

“He steadied the ship, managed to see out another treble. He deserves time. However, teams will now start to look at Celtic and think, ‘what can we get from them’?”

Although I see the point that he is trying to make, it would probably be fair to say the large majority of the Celtic support disagree.

Everyone loves Neil Lennon and wish that he could be the man to lead us to 10 in a row, as a legend of the club. But at the moment it simply isn’t working and something needs to change, fast.

The next weeks are crucial for this season as a whole, with a lot of big decisions that need to be made across the board.
