MICHAEL STEWART and Simon Donnelly believe Derek McInnes and his post-match Celtic rant was wrong after the Champions wiped the floor with his side on Sunday afternoon.
After being blown away in just 30 minutes, we were certain Derek would just put his hands up and say ‘we were beaten by a superior and talented side’. Instead, the Killie boss fixated on one incident in the second half when the game was already 4-1, claiming Celtic striker Oh should’ve been sent off.

The South Korean used a high boot during the game, and McInnes fixated on that claiming the Celtic striker should’ve been sent off. It was a bizarre rant that really didn’t hold water.
Michael Stewart made it clear McInnes was wrong, speaking on BBC Scotland’s Sportscene, Stewart said: “It’s not a red card, but I know why the Kilmarnock players are up in arms because obviously Vassell got sent off against Hibs for something very similar.
“You could see him coming in almost demonstrating that. I don’t think it’s a red card and I don’t think Vassell should have been sent off at Easter Road either but I can understand why Kilmarnock are upset about it.”
Former Celtic star, Simon Donnelly added: “I think Derek McInnes was looking for a red card, that’s a little bit harsh. I think he has his eyes on the ball, yes it’s a bit dangerous.”
Celtic maintained their 12 point gap at the top of the SPFL on Sunday with the win at Rugby Park. They are closing in on their second title under Ange Postecoglou. There’s just one more game to go before the split, the bhoys are at home to Motherwell at the weekend before the final fixtures are announced.
It’s been a highly entertaining campaign to this point with Celtic bagging 102 league goals for the season already!
