BBC Confirm Emergency Hampden Meeting Taking Place

The BBC report all SPFL clubs are taking part in an emergency meeting today to thrash out where to go next with the football season.

After a UEFA directive to have everything done and dusted by the end of June, we’re still no further forward with the best and most practical outcome for Scottish football.

The report claims all clubs will take part in talks as the government’s white paper introducing emergency powers is scrutinised.

Right now, it looks highly unlikely that any football will take place in the next three months. This outcome would leave so many loose ends which need to be tied up and the financial security of our game is also on the agenda.

Celtic are leading the pack in the SPFL and Hearts are at the bottom of the table. Both will have polar opposite views of what should happen if the season can’t be finished.

It’s unlikely a definitive answer will come from talks today but some semblance of a plan would be reassuring.
