Bayern Munich full-back Raphael Guerreiro has downplayed Celtic’s chances against the Bundesliga side at Celtic Park on Wednesday night.
With Celtic already having beaten RB Leipzig earlier in the season at Celtic Park in the Champions League on Bonfire Night, securing a 3-1 win with a Nicolas Kuhn brace and a Reo Hatate goal.

However, despite Celtic already showing what they can do this season against German opposition in Europe, Guerreiro was quick to write off Celtic’s chances on Wednesday ahead of the game.
He said: (The Herald), “This is the Champions League for real now and for Bayern we feel it’s impossible to fail.
“This squad believes we’ll be in the quarter-finals at least but we have to take care of this phase now.
“Celtic have a good squad and they’re in the same position; they want to win. It won’t be easy for us, but we’re prepared for these two matches.”
Fighting talk from Guerreiro ahead of the game, with Bayern having finished 12th in the Champions League table with 3 defeats in 8 games in Europe, Vincent Kompany’s side aren’t unbeatable.
Celtic’s 3-1 win over Leipzig was arguably one of the Hoops’ best performances this season. With Bayern likely to press Celtic high from the outset, Celtic will look to play their own game, which has proven effective this season in the Champions League.
Ahead of Wednesday night’s game, Celtic will be without Daizen Maeda through suspension and James Forrest through injury, with Adam Idah likely to lead the line in what will arguably be the Irish striker’s biggest game of his career so far.
Given his brace against Aston Villa last time out in Europe, he will hope to show why, on the European stage, he can pop up with big goals.
His combination of pace and physicality is something that will cause Bayern problems, as Villa found out the hard way.
