Bayern Reaction: Daizen Maeda Sends Wednesday Message to Celtic Support

Daizen Maeda has reached out to the Celtic support following their cruel Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich, thanking the fans for their backing and urging the team to move forward.

Celtic produced a massive performance in Munich, securing a 1-1 draw on the night, but were knocked out 3-2 on aggregate after conceding a last-minute goal to the Bundesliga giants. Maeda, who was instrumental in Celtic’s goal at the Allianz Arena, took to social media on Wednesday afternoon to share his message.

“Thank you for the amazing support last night. We have another game coming up soon so we just need to switch gears and get ready for the next one,” Maeda posted.

An Immense Celtic Performance in Munich

The Japanese forward was one of Celtic’s standout players, pressing relentlessly and playing a key role in Celtic’s goal. His work rate, movement, and energy caused Bayern problems, and once again, he proved why he’s so vital to Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Celtic had been just seconds away from taking Bayern to extra time, but the late goal ended their European journey. Despite the heartbreak, Maeda and his teammates left the Allianz Arena with their heads held high, having pushed one of the best teams in world football right to the wire.

No Time to Dwell

As Maeda pointed out, Celtic don’t have time to dwell on their exit. With the Scottish Premiership title race still in full swing, Rodgers’ men must switch focus back to domestic football. The Hoops have been relentless in the league, and they’ll need to maintain that form to ensure they keep their grip on the title. It’s off to Easter Road next for the champions.

Celtic fans will take heart from Maeda’s words. The team gave everything in Europe, but now, all eyes turn to the next challenge.
