Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has effectively just given Brendan Rodgers his team-talk before tomorrow nights clash in Glasgow.
Speaking about Robert Lewandowski’s injury this morning at the airport Rummenigge categorically states that had Bayern been playing ‘Real Madrid’ then the player would have made the trip. But seeing as it’s only Celtic they have left the striker behind in Germany.
He told reporters at Munich airport: “If we were playing Real Madrid, he might have travelled, but the coach isn’t taking any risks, he already has the game on Saturday in the back of his mind which is very important to us.
This will be a slap in the face to Brendan Rodgers and his side, who have been shown no respect by the Bayern CEO.
Not that Celtic need any more incentive for a performance tomorrow night, they should take those words and try their best to jam them down the throat of Rummenigge and make him wish they brought Robert.
