Barry Ferguson Admits to Seething Celtic Pain

Former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson was in the stands as Celtic romped to a glorious 3-0 victory over their city rivals on Sunday afternoon.

It was a pleasant day at the office for the Bhoys, who, barring brief spells at the beginning and end, were in full control of the match.

Daizen Maeda opened the scoring 17 minutes in before Kyogo Furuhashi added another five from half-time.

Things were going swimmingly, and Callum McGregor then scored a screamer deep into the second 45.

Celtic were cruising, and it was party time when they went 3-0 up.

The traditional huddle went around Parkhead, as the fans sang their hearts out.

Ferguson was spitting feathers in the directors’ box as he had to take it all in.

“This one hurts”, he said (RecordSport).

“Maybe it was because I was there to watch it with my own eyes, sitting in the directors’ box at Parkhead.

“Perhaps it was the joy on the faces of the Celtic fans when they were doing their wee huddle dance and laughing in my face when their team was 3-0 up. It was interesting, let’s just leave it at that.”

The Parkhead faithful fans relish in Ferguson’s pain, which was instigated by a dominant Celtic performance.

The Hoops are the presiding force in Glasgow, and their city rivals can barely get close to them these days.

Indeed, Rangers haven’t beaten the champions in a meaningful game in over two years, adding testament to Celtic’s superiority.

Although they took a while to get going under Brendan Rodgers last season, they look like a well-oiled machine in the early stages of this campaign, and no one in Scottish football currently looks close to them.
