Barkas Has Nightmare Sunday for Loan Club

VASILIS BARKAS has been doing very well for his loan club Utrecht since moving out on loan this summer, but the goalkeeper will want to forget Sunday’s defeat to PSV.

The Greek goalie was part of the Utrecht side who were demolished 6-1 by PSV.

The goalie struggled with the relentless nature of PSVs attacks. His long ball distribution sitting at 50% for the day with only three saves to his name.

Barkas has managed to keep 4 clean sheets since moving to the Dutch club, but this will certainly be one to forget. There will be plenty of Celtic fans who aren’t surprised Barkas has been part of a team who’ve shipped six after his poor spell in Glasgow. Ultimately, games like this hurt Celtic and put a major ceiling on any money we can look to get back for the goalie.

It wasn’t all his fault on the day and his defence were no better, but when six goals are put past you, any goalkeeper is going to come under scrutiny.

There’s plenty of time to make sure the loan spell is a success overall and Celtic will be hoping they can make some cash on the goalkeeper come next summer.
