Australian Centre Back in Celtic Trial

Transfer season is well underway and Celtic have already made a few moves in the market.

Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio have made switches to Glasgow, as could a centre back.

According to @scout_aussie on Twitter, 2005 born centre back Liam Bonetig has been at Celtic in recent weeks.

It is said the defender, who plies his trade for Western Sydney Wanderers down under, played for the Hoops’ B team in a recent match against Fraserburgh.

Bonetig scored in the penalty shootout win and such news comes after he won the MVP on the Australian Schoolboys’ UK tour in January.

Over the past decade or so, Celtic have been rather active, at least compared to other teams, in the Aussie market.

The likes of Tom Rogic, Daniel Arzani, Jackson Irvine and Marco Tilio have all made moves to Parkhead and it looks like Bonetig could be next.

Right now, all indications point towards the Australian being on trial with Celtic’s B team and if he continually impresses, we could see Bonetig sign for the club.
