Celtic have made significant progress in securing the services of Auston Trusty, the 26-year-old centre-back currently with Sheffield United.

Trusty has completed the initial part of his medical, and all that remains now is the final paperwork. He is scheduled to arrive in Glasgow on Friday to wrap up the formalities of the transfer.
The former Arsenal player joined Sheffield United last year, but he’s clearly caught the eye of Brendan Rodgers who wanted a defensive left reinforcements.

Trusty’s arrival will also see him reunited with his international teammate Cameron Carter-Vickers, adding a familiar connection at the heart of Celtic’s defence.
As Celtic push to finalise this deal, the move seems poised to be completed in time, marking an important reinforcement for the club’s ambitions this season. The only concern would be having his work permit in place.
While this is happening Celtic are also putting the finishing touches on a record breaking deal for Arne Engels who is getting set to join Brendan Rodgers and the Scottish champions before the deadline.
