Atlanta Make Striker Move as Kyogo Deal Looks Unlikely – Report

Atlanta’s interest in Kyogo looks to have cooled, with the MLS side moving on to other targets.

Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath has emerged as their primary target.

Atlanta have been linked with Celtic’s Kyogo Furuhashi in recent weeks, but a move for the Japanese international now appears increasingly unlikely. Celtic remain determined to keep their star man amid a crucial run of fixtures, including pivotal Champions League games later this month.

Celtic received no official approach for the striker.

The MLS outfit also has Crystal Palace striker Odsonne Edouard, a former Celtic favourite, on their radar. However, their focus seems to have shifted to securing a deal for Latte Lath.

While Atlanta’s interest in Kyogo was well-publicised, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has dismissed the idea of a January departure for the striker. Rodgers emphasised Kyogo’s importance to the squad, particularly with their league campaign in full swing and Champions League ambitions alive.

The striker still has a big part to play in the Hoops, and with a crucial match against Young Boys on Tuesday, it won’t be surprising if he’s the difference maker.
