Police Scotland have confirmed the arrest and charging of 11 individuals for their involvement in disorder incidents during the Scottish Premiership match between Motherwell and Celtic on September 30, 2023.

The match, which saw Celtic emerge victorious with a 2-1 win after a dramatic series of late goals, was marred by trouble both before and after the game, as well as during play.
The individuals arrested, whose ages range from 15 to 30, are facing charges related to various disorder offences. These incidents of disruption and violence occurred at Fir Park and resulted in injuries to both a steward and a police officer prior to the game’s kickoff.
The reports concerning these arrests have been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal for further action.
A Police Scotland statement read: “Following an investigation, officers have arrested and charged 11 men, aged between 15 and 30, in connection with disorder offences experienced before, during, and after the Motherwell vs Celtic football fixture held at Fir Park on Saturday, 30 September, 2023.
“Reports have been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
“At the time of the fixture officers worked with stewards to minimise disruption and ensure the safety of all involved. One steward and one police officer were injured during an incident prior to kick-off.”
Celtic has taken the step of banning the supporters group known as the Green Brigade following the match. The game was one of the reasons for the ban and it comes in response to actions by fans that included forcing fire exits open to allow entry for those without tickets and a pitch invasion following Matt O’Riley’s winning goal.
