Arne Engels has insisted that he is ready for a baptism of fire, stating he is ready to take to the pitch on Sunday during the Glasgow Derby if the manager calls on him.

Having just completed a record transfer of £11 million from Augsburg, Engels is eager to demonstrate his readiness to compete at a high level in the Scottish Premiership.
In his first interview with Celtic TV, Engels expressed enthusiasm about the club’s style of play and the fit with his abilities, emphasising his readiness to contribute immediately if called upon by manager Brendan Rodgers for this weekend’s Glasgow Derby clash.
He said: “I hope so,” he said to Celtic TV. “It’s the choice of the manager so I will see about that, but I’m always ready, so we will see.
“The trust that the club and the manager is giving me is a lot and it’s nice to experience. It’s also a bonus point actually, so it’s always nice to hear this from such a really good manager.
“Celtic has a style that suits me really well so that’s also one of the reasons that I wanted to join this really big club.
“It will be amazing to create a lot of chances and to get a lot of possession in games. It’s a new experience so it will be really nice.”
Arne Engels was one of three deadline-day signings for Celtic. Joining him were Auston Trusty and Luke McCowan, completing the seven summer arrivals for Celtic.
The window got off to a slow start, but looking at the players brought in, overall, it was a decent window for Celtic.
