Approach Won’t Change For Postecoglou Ahead Of European Tie

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has insisted that his squad will be approaching Thursday night’s fixture in the same fashion as they have for all fixtures this season.

Speaking ahead of the Europa League tie tomorrow night against AZ Alkmaar, as quoted by the Daily Record, the 55-year old will be sending his squad into the game in the same attacking mindset we have seen so far this campaign as we look to take the game to the Dutch side once again.

“I think that is the best approach from us.

“If we go there and try to defend for 90 minutes, I just think you are asking for trouble.

“They are a good team and we know at home they are going to be playing fairly high tempo and high-intensity football to score a goal.

“If we sit back we are just going to invite pressure on ourselves.

“Our best football has been going the other way, going forward, and if we score goals, it puts more pressure on the opposition.

“We won’t change our approach, it is the best strategy for us.”

As the weeks progress, Ange Postecoglou and his squad have continued to have tests thrown their way, and Thursday’s game is more of the same.

The past few fixtures, Celtic have been playing scintillating football at times, winning 6-0 in back-to-back league games.

However, some may claim that most of these games have been played in front of a home crowd, so it will be interesting to see us taking this approach into a huge game that could impact our season.

Of course, like most other fans, I have complete faith in Postecoglou and his style of football that we can take the game these sort of sides and win the game in a hopefully comfortable manner.
