The goalkeeper signed his first contract with the club at the age of 16 before cutting him loose aged 21.

Mullen has appeared for the B team this season, having spent spells on loan with Queens Park and Cove Rangers.

Signing a new contract in 2020, he had put pen to paper on a deal that would see the shot-stopper extend his stay at Celtic Park until 2023, but the club released him from his contract a year early.

However, the goalie has a potential move lined up. Sheffield United have offered the player a trial with the under 23 squad.

It has looked like Tobi Oluwayemi has been above the Scottish goalie in the pecking order. Many times this season, the England under 19 international has been included in matchday squads, sitting on the bench. Ryan Mullen made the Celtic squad once, appearing on the bench once. This came on Boxing Day when Celtic visited St Johnstone.
