It was rumoured all last week on social media and in some of the tabloids that Celtic had released Liam Burt. The midfielder only rejoined last summer from the other side of Glasgow.
However, an image of the player turning up at Lennoxtown at the back end of last week seemed to suggest he was still part of the plans at Celtic Park.

Glasgow Times have reported overnight that the player’s current contract is up at the end of June and at that time, Celtic will be releasing the player for the second time.
The same report says Burt still has fans within the Celtic coaching system but it won’t be enough to save him from the chop.
We’ve already seen two players leave the club this summer who may have stayed under different circumstances. The club is now looking to cut their cloth and get rid of excess players off the wage bill.
Liam has been linked with a number of championship clubs and if he is to leave Celtic at the end of this month, he can use this as motivation elsewhere.
