Another Goalkeeper Linked to Celtic as the Hoops Close in on Joe Hart Replacement

Celtic are on the hunt for a new goalkeeper to fill the void left by Joe Hart, who ended his career on a high note.

Hart’s final appearance was a Scottish Cup Final derby victory that secured his seventh trophy in three years, including three consecutive league titles.

With the summer transfer window just around the corner, Celtic are linked with various potential replacements.

One of the goalkeepers attracting Celtic’s interest is Kenan Piric, a Bosnia and Herzegovina international. According to the Daily Star, Piric is being closely monitored by Celtic, along with Premier League club Southampton and Championship side Sheffield United.

Piric has recently become a free agent after his contract with Cypriot side AEK Larnaca concluded at the end of the 2023/24 season, meaning Celtic could pick the goalie up for free.

The Daily Record has reported that Celtic are closing in on a goalkeeper to replace Joe Hart.

Piric kept 13 clean sheets in 26 league games last season, his second season with the Cypriot side.

He’s not a goalkeeper who jumps off the page, but with Celtic also needing a decent backup choice with Sigerist expected to depart, Piric could be a good option.
