This impressive victory at Celtic Park saw the Scottish Champions jump to second in the league phase, but there has only been one match played.

The Hoops’ next challenge is against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park. Dotrmund was on the wrong end of the scoreline last weekend, being beat 5-1 by Stuttgart, who are also in the Champions League.

Following the Dortmund game, Celtic will travel to Italy to face Atalanta at Gewiss Stadium. Atalanta, last season’s Europa League winners, have had a shaky start to their Serie A campaign this year.

On Wednesday night, they were at the wrong end of a shock result. They suffered a surprising defeat at home to Como, with the away side securing a 3-2 victory thanks to goals from Gabriel Strefezza, Alieu Fadera, and an own goal by Atalanta’s Sead Kolasinac.

Atalanta initially took the lead but found themselves 3-1 down in the 58th minute. A 99th-minute penalty wasn’t enough to at least secure a point.

The Europa League winners sit 12th in the Serie A, winning two and losing three. Wednesday night’s win over Atalanta was Como’s first of the season.
