Ange’s Latest One-Liner to the Media; ‘I Just Don’t Tell Them’

ANGE POSTECOGLOU came out with another great one-liner after he was asked how he approached leaving certain players out of the starting XI.

The question came after James Forrest was demoted to the bench after his hat-trick at the weekend. Asked how he approaches the subject of leaving players out Ange joked to The Scotsman:

“I don’t tell them, I just avoid them mate.

“Easy discussion, I just put the team up and walk away.

“I think they’ve all embraced that, they understand it. You saw last year what happens when you put the burden on a very few, you get injuries and it affects us. If James  had played tonight or Giako had played tonight, there’s no chance for Saturday, so they understand that. They all appreciate and all understand that if we are going to be successful, playing this kind of football, everyone’s got their role to play.

“I think there is a respect within the group. We all know what we are trying to achieve and we all want to do it together. That means that no one is more important than anyone else.”

Abada would score a brace on the night in for James Forrest and could have had his own hat-trick against Motherwell.

Ange has been banging this drum since he has had a big enough squad. The intensity the team play means it’s not just a reliable 11-12 players he’s looking at for every game. The Celtic gaffer looks at the entire squad and meticulously plans out the best team to for that particular game.

After getting caught cold at St Mirren Park we’re starting to see the squad really gel together, meaning they can fit seamlessly into Ange’s system.
