Ange Postecoglou is fully focused on the Europa League final against Manchester United and isn’t worrying about his future at Tottenham. Reports say he could be sacked even if Spurs win the trophy and qualify for next season’s Champions League, but the former Celtic boss says he won’t be distracted by what might happen next.
Spurs face United in Bilbao in five days’ time. Postecoglou hopes to lead the club to their first European trophy in over 30 years. It would also book them a Champions League place. But he knows a win might still not be enough to save his job. Despite reaching the final, Spurs have had a terrible season in the league. They sit 17th and have lost 20 matches—only the three teams already relegated have more defeats.

Postecoglou is no stranger to success. In his time at Celtic, he won five trophies from six and guided the Hoops to a treble in his final season. He believes that experience helps him block out the noise and focus on what matters.
He said: (Sky Sports News), “I would never allow myself to miss an opportunity that is right before me by thinking beyond that.
“It’s just not the way I am wired.
“All I am thinking about is the possibility of doing something special in the next seven days.
“Beyond that, everything will take care of itself.
“I love winning things and hopefully I can win something else again to add to what I have done before.
“(Hopefully) I will continue winning in the future, wherever that may be.”
Tottenham’s path to the final hasn’t been easy. Several key players are out injured, including James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski. Captain Son Heung-min has returned from injury, but it’s unclear how fit he really is.

For now, the Australian is putting everything into this one match. Win or lose, what comes next will sort itself out. But make no mistake—Ange wants to win. He’s done it before, and he wants to do it again.
Celtic supporters know he’s a proven winner, and it seems time the whole of Europe learns the same. It would be the ultimate moment for Ange to silence his critics after his time at Tottenham.
