Ange Shows His Class with Post-Match Celtic Response

Ange Postecoglou showed his class yet again in his post-match interview at Tannadice after Celtic won a resounding 9-0.

Celtic annihilated Dundee Utd on the day, in the end, it could have been even more. A hat-trick a price for Kyogo and Abada with Juranovic, Starfelt and Jota all getting among the goals, it was a record breaking Sunday for the Scottish Champions.

Ange was clearly delighted with his team and how they picked apart the home side.

Dundee Utd have been in free fall since their 1-0 victory against Alkmaar. The game at Tannadice was another shocking result for The Arabs and leaves Jack Ross in a precarious position.

Ange was asked about Dundee Utd’s plight and Celtic piling on the misery. The Australian boss believes the bhoys didn’t take advantage of Utd and always remained disciplined.

“What is important is the manner which we went about it,” Postecoglou told Football Scotland. “I am always respectful of this game, you need to stay humble and you can’t get too ahead of yourself or this game will drag you back down. I thought right to the end we were respectful.

“We understood that we had a vulnerable opponent but there was no getting away from being disciplined.

“I don’t think sympathy is the right word as we all know we are in this business and it’s a ruthless business. I don’t think Jack Ross needs my sympathy.

“I absolutely have a respect and understanding about the position he’s in. I’ve always said with every manager that unless you are in their shoes it’s very hard to know what they are dealing with, or how they are going about things.

“Of course, there is a part of you that on the sideline does feel for what the other guy is going through as we are all in the same game. We didn’t take advantage of that, we stayed respectful in terms of our approach.”

There was no showboating from Celtic, they just continued ti play their football. There’s a tendency to see players trying to pull off flicks and tricks when the game is so far beyond the opposition.

The Hoops kept going until the very end. Ange would have had a private chat with Jack Ross after the game, like most managers do.

Celtic now face some stern challenges in the wake of the 9-0 victory. They have Ross County in the league cup, followed by a Glasgow Derby on Saturday and of course, Real Madrid the following Tuesday. It’s exciting times for Celtic fans.
