Ange Reveals One Major Positive Over Gerrard Exit

Ange Postecoglou took part in an interview with Australian journalist Gerard Whateley this week and he was very open and honest during the twenty minute conversation.

Whateley asked about the furore in Glasgow in the last week with the Ibrox club losing their manager. While Ange didn’t have much to say on Gerrard leaving his post, he said he was thankful the news cycle was pointed at the other part of the city, leaving him to get onto his job.

“Thankfully it’s been quiet on my front which has been good

“They’re focussing over there, and again, it’s one club or the other every day in the news so obviously the focus is on them now and getting a new manager

“Look, I think what I’ve tried to do is really try to focus on us and make sure that we can keep building what we’re trying to do

“The reality is they’re going to have a managerial change but there’s a story every day and if you get distracted by those kind of stories, you lose focus on yourself”

Ange never shared a touchline with Gerrard at all. The former Ibrox boss was out with a positive case when the first derby rolled around.

The Celtic manager is absolutely correct – the club must continue down their own path and not allow themselves to be distracted by any upheaval elsewhere.

The Hoops have been on a good run of form and if they continue down that path, they can certainly make their mark this season.
