Ange Postecoglou’s Classy Response to Crucial Ibrox Flashpoint

ANGE POSTECGOLOU watched his side lose only their second game of the season when his weakened side were beaten 3-0 at Ibrox.

It was a sore one to take on the day, but the bigger picture remains that Celtic won when it mattered.

After going one goal down early in the game, Celtic had the perfect opportunity to respond when Abada’s brilliant ball put Oh through on goal. Celtic fans everywhere thought it was going in when the ball hit off the post.

It was a pivotal moment in the game, and something Ange acknowledges could have really dampened the Ibrox crowd after their quick start.

The Australian wasn’t too tough on his second striker, but he did conceded Oh should have probably put that one away.

“It is a big moment. They were up for it, the crowd were up for it and they get a goal.” Ange told The Glasgow Times. “If we could hit back straight away, it takes a bit of the momentum out of them.

“The big man probably should have put it away. He hits the post, so it wasn’t far off. I think it is a bit of a learning experience for him as well. When he looks at someone like Kyogo, he misses goals too, but it doesn’t affect him afterwards. He is still running his socks off for the team.

“In the second half, I just felt we almost accepted our fate rather than sort of going out there to try and change the course of the game.”

Oh has been a mixed bag in the opportunities he’s had so far at Celtic. He scored a late winner against Hibs as Celtic charged towards the title, but squandered a fantastic chance against Motherwell when the bhoys dropped points at Celtic park.

The goal against Hearts to help seal the league title seemed to have him back on track, but the miss at Ibrox means the jury is out with Oh and the support.

We hope to see more of him in the last few SPFL games before the cup final.
