CELTIC FANS are confident of making it out of their Champions League group, despite being the lowest ranked team out of the four. However, Ange Postecoglou is refusing to give his thoughts on his side’s chances of progression, with no games played yet.
Celtic should be capable of taking points from their matches against Shakhtar and Leipzig, and some fans are optimistic about their games against Real Madrid, the competition’s reigning champions.
Ange Postecoglou reminded those in attendance at his press conference today that a ball hasn’t been kicked in the elite competition yet, and admitted his attention lies with Celtic’s domestic matches, with two league games and a cup tie to play before the first matchday of the Champions League.
He said; [Celtic TV]
“We’ve not played a game yet, mate.
“Once we start, we will address that as we go along. We will address each fixture as it comes. We have three important games before that. We want to go into those games in good form and feel good about ourselves.
“Once we get through our next three games, hopefully in strong form, then we will see who is first up and will tackle that. To start looking beyond that is not something you can do in this competition.
“You have to focus on your next opponent, or you will not get past them.”
Ange’s messaging has been consistent throughout his time at Celtic; he takes it one game at a time and looks for a good performance and a positive result from his team before moving on to the next.
