Ange Postecoglou to Bring Back Brendan Rodgers Cup Tactic – Opinion

Ange Postecoglou has remained tight lipped on who he’ll start against Motherwell on Wednesday evening. However, we have a sneaky suspicion he’s about to give one Celtic player his second start of the season.

Benjamin Siegrist has made his one and only appearance for Celtic in the League Cup when the bhoys took on Ross County in the round of 16.

Celtic won 4-1 against County in Dingwall to book their place in the quarter-finals.

As the bhoys attempt to make their way to the semi-final at Hampden surely the Celtic manager is about to dust off his backup goalkeeper for the tie against Motherwell, giving Joe Hart the night off.

The former Dundee Utd man signed on in the summer knowing he wouldn’t be number one at the club but he’d get his chance at some point. These games look like the best way to give the Swiss stopper a chance.

Interestingly, Brendan Rodgers used the cup games to allow Scott Bain time in the team when Craig Gordon was in goals.

Brendan would eventually look to bring Bain is as the number one but it hasn’t worked out for Scott who is now number three at the club.
