ANGE POSTECOGLOU believes there has been “zero consistency” with VAR this season, after his side was denied a stonewall penalty in the Glasgow Derby.

The Hoops boss also said that if the shoe was on the other foot, and The Rangers were denied the same penalty, it would be reported as a ”title-defining decision”.

The manager was clearly frustrated in the press conference, and wasn’t afraid to make his opinion clear.

Ange Postecoglou also points out that Monday wasn’t the first time his side has been done dirty by VAR, admitting he can name at least three other incidents that have gone against his side.

As quoted by Clyde 1 SSB, the manager made his striking VAR statement. He said:

“It’s confusing for players in the box to know what they can and can’t do. It seems that it changes depending on who’s in charge of the decision making process. There has been zero consistency in the decisions being made.

“over the course of the season, these things usually even themselves out, but when I look at the introduction of VAR and then decisions that have gone against us in particular, there’s no chance that that’s going to even up by the end of the year, because it’s just remarkable that at least three major decisions go against us.

“We can say that to comes down to interpretation, but I guarantee you that if that game finished 2-2 and it was Rangers that were denied that decision, the talk this week would be about how that was a title defining decision. Now, the fact that it wasn’t, because we still got a result, as we have in every other game, like Tynecastle and here at home when decisions have gone against us, doesn’t mean we should ignore it. It need to be highlighted, and it needs clarification.

“To go back to your original question, it’s a penalty. Before we introduced VAR it was a penalty. There were only two saves made in the game, one by Joe and one by Connor.”

The manager has every right to be fuming with the decision that has gone against his side, and it’s good to hear him speak up about this. He’s spoken out as news emerged that Celtic requested a sit down with those in charge to discuss these blatantly wrong decisions.
