ANGE POSTECOGLOU has sent a warning to Scottish football, expecting his side to continue improving as he looks to bring in some more players in the summer window.
The manager has said he’s constantly looking for improvements, from performances to results, but also personnel.
The Aussie has said that the club have already identified their summer targets, despite the month of March just commencing. By doing so, Ange Postecoglou is hoping that he can get the players in early, get them settled in, and get a pre-season with the team ahead of the league start on the 5th/6th of August.
Speaking to Football Scotland, the Celtic boss said:
“We are always trying to improve and as you said the results have been outstanding. As importantly, so have the performances.
“We are really strong and we are getting stronger. That is always our focus. Sometimes the performances are not always there even when the results are but we have kind of married the two this year for the most part which has been great. We want to continue that until the end of the year and be strong. Yes, we are constantly looking at how we can be stronger for next year.
“If you look at every window since I have been here, we have strengthened and we are already doing work to make sure we come out of the next window even stronger than when we enter it.
“That has got to be our ambition every time we enter this process. Getting them in early has worked well for us. It’s allowed players to come in and settle and contribute straight away and we will continue to do that.”
Ange Postecoglou didn’t waste time in the winter window, bringing in players a month before the window opened. It’s had it’s benefits, playing out in front of the fans each week, and allowing everyone to relax on deadline day, although, admittedly, it was a bit boring!
