Ange Postecoglou Responds to Marinos Exit Question

It was reported on Saturday evening Ange Postecoglou had verbally accepted a deal to take over as Celtic manager. [Sunsport]

By early Sunday morning, the Australian was in the dugout managing his current side – Yokohama Marinos.

If the manager is set to move to Scotland, he’s giving nothing away at the minute.

Marinos played out a 1-1 draw against Consadole Sapporo in the first leg of their cup tie.

After the game, Ange was questioned on his potential exit from Japan and asked if he could say anything about the potential move away:

“Nah, not really.” Ange said as reported by SunSport.

“I think last week I was asked the question too. My focus is always on the work I have to do today.

“We had a very important game and we’ve got another game coming up on Wednesday so that’s where my focus is.”

Typical of what you would expect a manager to say if the deal wasn’t signed, sealed and delivered and right now we don’t believe it is.

After watching Eddie Howe back out at the final hurdle, Celtic and the support are wary of any premature definitive statements and so is Ange.

The question about UEFA pro licence is still there and the time the manager needs to self-isolate when he signs on the dotted line and heads over to the UK,
