Ange Postecoglou Nears Career Milestone

If Celtic manage to avoid a loss today, Ange will equal the unbeaten record he set while he was with Brisbane Roar in Australia more than a decade ago.

The Hoops are thirty-five games unbeaten in the league; on Sunday, the Hoops have the chance to extend this to thirty-six, a record-equalling amount for Ange. A week later, at Tannadice,  Postecoglou has the chance to do one better than the record he set in the 2010/11 season.

However, Postecoglou isn’t taking any praise for the record, passing it on to the players, who work hard every week to ensure Celtic fans can go home satisfied. He told the Scotsman;

“Everyone talks about the 36 games but they don’t talk about what happened after it. We lost five straight away after that and it was a great leveller.”

“Look, the run we are on is testament to the boys and the ability to overcome the challenges we had. [But] what’s more important right now for me is that we are undefeated in three this season and we have a fourth at the weekend. We need to focus on that and try to win it.”

That’s almost a full season Celtic has gone unbeaten, a great achievement from the team. With the team playing the way they are, it’s looking like it’ll be a tough challenge to stop the side.

Postecoglou won’t let standard slip; Celtic are heading into a crucial stage of the season and can potentially start to open up a gap over their rivals.
