Ange Postecoglou Makes Huge Impression – Player Reveals Chat

Scott Robertson has gone out on loan to Crewe Alexandria for the season but the Hoops hopeful is not giving up on his Celtic first dream.

The midfielder has revealed Ange Postecoglou has given the young players at the club a massive shot in the arm when he told them their age is no barrier to first team football.

Not only that, but he’s already shown a willingness to integrate Adam Montgomery in the side — proving he is deadly serious about the academy players.

Speaking to RecordSport — there’s a renewed optimism about the young players who 12 months ago might have felt hopeless in their pursuit of first team football.

“From the first day the new manager arrived, he told us all that no matter what your age is, if you are good enough then you will play for him.

“It was great to hear him say that. He said we would get opportunities and I think he’s shown that already with Adam’s promotion into the first team that he’s true to his word.

“I wasn’t surprised to see Adam being thrown in at the deep-end so soon, nobody at Celtic was.

“The manager has shown he has faith in him and for a young player that is huge.

“He’s shown by his performances so far this season that he’s been up to the job and it’s been an inspiration to the younger boys who see what can happen.

“It also shows the manager is someone who is prepared to look at the academy and give youngsters an opportunity.

“The big moment for Adam came when he was played in Europe against Midtjyland as a sub and he showed his temperament was strong enough to cope.

“Then he was excellent against AZ Alkmaar, he slotted right in and didn’t look out of place at all.”

Robertson should be looking at Callum McGregor as inspiration. The midfielder spent a loan period in the English lower leagues with Notts County before eventually making the breakthrough at Cektic.

Fast forward to the present day and Callum is the captain of the club.

There are trials and tribulations along the way, but the door is open at Celtic.

Robertson has the opportunity to get first team football and really show he can be a Celtic player come next season.
