CELTIC MANAGER Ange Postecoglou revealed that he had already gone down the tunnel at Dingwall when his team was awarded a penalty in the dying moments of the first half against Ross County.

Staggies gaffer Malky Mackay was left raging after Willie Collum consulted VAR for a handball allegation against Alex Iacovitti in a battle with Cameron CarterVickers.

The Aussie coach said he had to check who had won the penalty, as he had headed up the tunnel before VAR had got involved for the penalty call.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Ange Postecoglou said:

“To be honest I was in the dressing room when they said it was a penalty. I had to check and see who got it because I wasn’t really sure.

“Getting the goal was good but I just thought we were a bit wasteful in the final third. We had opportunities to the kill the game off but when it is so tight you keep the opposition in the game.”

Many at home had probably gone to put the kettle on, only to return to see Celtic in the lead at halftime. The Scottish media also got caught out, putting their halftime updates out prematurely with the scoreline at 0-0.
