Ange Postecoglou’s Premier League Adventure Continues

Ange Postecoglou spent just two years with Celtic between 2021 and 2023 but during that time he had a lot of success in Glasgow. The Australian coach won the Scottish Premiership twice, landed the Scottish League Cup on two occasions and lifted the Scottish Cup in a treble-winning campaign during the 2022-23 season.

Celtic fans have been monitoring his progress closely at Tottenham since he departed Celtic Park. Despite getting off to a fantastic start, Spurs could only finish fifth last season in the Premier League. With a full pre-season this time around, Postecoglou will be hoping for much more from his players in the latest campaign.

Top Four the Minimum Aim for North London Club

Tottenham start the new season with Premier League 2024/25 winner odds of 22/1. They are sixth best in the outright betting with the bookmakers for the title. Postecoglou will be keen to challenge for the title but the minimum target for his side is a top-four finish.

In the Premier League predictions, many pundits are tipping Tottenham to be in contention for one of the Champions League placings in the new campaign. The North London club have only once in the last five years finished inside the top four in the Premier League standings.

Tottenham sold their record goalscorer Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer. It was a big blow to the former Celtic manager, however, his side did not lack goals in the 2023/24 campaign, as they found the back of the net 74 times in 38 league games in the post-Kane era.

Summer Signings a Big Boost

Postecoglou has been very active this summer in the transfer window to boost the options in his squad. He has extended German international Timo Werner’s loan deal with RB Leipzig. The former Chelsea striker will remain with Spurs until the end of the season. The club then has the option to buy the player permanently.

The biggest deal Tottenham and Postecoglou have completed this transfer window is the reported £65 million spent to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth. The 26-year-old scored 19 Premier League goals last season, his best tally yet in the top flight of English football.

Postecoglou showed during his time at Celtic that he was able to bring in the right players to improve his team. His latest recruits should give Tottenham extra firing power next season.
