Ange Postecoglou Claims Midfielder Is Ready To Hit Peak Years At Celtic

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has insisted that attacking midfielder Tom Rogic is ready to hit his peak years at the Hoops.

As reported by the Glasgow Times, Postecoglou knows Rogic well from his time as head coach of the Australian National team. Whilst admitting that the 28-year old has had his problems, he has also impressed in training and is ready to hit his peak years in Glasgow.

“It’s hard for me to say [what has changed],” Postecoglou said. “I don’t like talking about when I wasn’t here because everyone has unique circumstances. We don’t know what drives certain people.

“I know Tommy really well, and he’s an unbelievable footballer. He’s one of the players the supporters love to watch.

“He had a bit of an interrupted pre-season, but he’s been super in training and getting better and better in the games.

“Long may it continue because he’s an exciting footballer. He’s still got a lot to offer – he’s in his peak years now.”

In the last 12 months or so, Rogic’s future at the club has very much been in doubt.

As many fans know, the attacking midfielder has had his struggles with injury problems. There is no doubting the quality that Rogic possesses, but we haven’t seen that in recent years from him.

So far, under Ange, in particular the last two games, Rogic has started to pick up his form and looking back to his best.

In the fixture versus Jablonec, many fans were heaping praise on the Australian internationalist and rightly so for his performance in the side.

Hopefully, this is the start of Rogic’s rebirth at the club, and he can keep this form up.
