Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has called for his side to bounce back from the disappointment of Saturday night’s defeat to Hearts.

The former Socceroos manager took charge of his first competitive fixture in the Scottish Premiership and was left disappointed in the end, as Hearts grabbed a late winner to take home all three points.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Postecoglou admitted he was extremely disappointed with the outcome but is looking for players to bounce back ahead of Thursday’s Europa League qualifying tie.

 “It was hugely disappointing. After a chaotic first five or 10 minutes, I think we grew into the game and we kind of controlled the game.

“Some of our play in the front third wasn’t great, and we didn’t really capitalise on the possession we had. But we got ourselves back into the game, and I thought at that point we looked like we’d go on with it, so it was hugely disappointing to concede one at the end.”

Speaking about Thursday night’s trip to the Czech Republic, the manager added: “It’s another opportunity for us to overcome this disappointment and look ahead and gain some momentum.”

At the beginning of every season, it is chaotic for every Celtic side who feature a heavy fixture list right from the off.

It has been far from the ideal start for Postecoglou and his squad. The only slight positive for the 55-year old is that he has a quick opportunity to bounce back on Thursday.

With that, though, comes another crucial fixture as we remain in the hunt for European football this campaign.
