Ange Postecoglou Makes Bold Celtic Defender Prediction

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has once again made another fantastic claim that there is ‘more to come’ from defender Greg Taylor.

The Hoops manager has already made this prediction about a number of his current first team stars as they continue on their charge for the league title as they sit nine points clear at the top of the table with fourteen games to go.

Greg Taylor made his return from injury at the weekend in the 2-0 win away at Tannadice but looked like a player who had just came back from injury. In the 3-0 win against Livingston, he gave his side the lead after a fantastic sweet strike fired past Shamal George.

His last appearance for the Hoops had been in the 2-2 New Year derby draw against Rangers and many thought the game changed for the league leaders after he was forced off injured.

Taylor is well in the running to be in contention for Celtic’s player of the year but Postecoglou expects even more from the Scotland international and has warned other sides to expect more from his individual performances.

“I can’t talk about before I got here but since I’ve been here he’s really embraced the challenge of being a key part of this team,” said Postecoglou speaking to the BBC.

“Obviously the way we play is a little bit different, I think he’s embraced that and he’s continuing to improve.

“That’s the key for us. We’re constantly looking to push our boys to be better and he’s one that’s got that appetite to continually ask the questions of how he can improve.

“I think again on nights like tonight when the opposition are going to try and stop our attacking threats, the ability of other players to pull up in areas where they can be a goal threat and score goals is important.

“He’s done that on a number of occasions this year and I think there’s more to come from him.”

Many had written the left-back off before Postecoglou arrived at the club but he has undoubtedly been one of the Hoops top performers in the past two seasons.

His relationships with the Celtic attacking players has also been vitally important as he continually links up well to players such as Daizen Maeda and Jota.
