Hours after SunSport broke the news Ange Postecoglou had verbally agreed to be the next manager of Celtic Football Club, the Australian boss was back to business with his current side in Japan.
There was some debate over whether Ange would take the team considering his seemingly imminent move to Celtic.
The coach did take his position in the dug out for Yokohama Marinos cup tie; the game finishing 1-1 on the day.
It was a 5am kick off UK time so credit to anyone who stayed up to see if Ange would be in the building.
SunSport’s report claim although Celtic are set to announce their new manager over the next week, it could be the start of July before the manager touches down in the UK.
The report goes as far as saying the head coach will meet up with Celtic in England when they start their pre-season tour.
It’s hardly an ideal scenario but looks the most likely thing to happen.
As it stands, Ange would have to self-isolate for ten days when he comes in from Japan – unless there’s an elite sport exemption in place.
