Ange Masterfully Swerves Glasgow Derby Question

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has failed to give an update on Kyogo Furuhashi, who is currently sidelined due to an injury. However, Postecoglou did make it clear he wasn’t ruling the striker out of the Glasgow Derby.

The manager did not give anything away when asked about his top-scoring striker, not even the treatment he has received. As per the Daily Record, Postecoglou commented.

“I’m not going to talk about people’s medical procedures. That’s people’s private business.

“It’s not that I am saying he will or he won’t, but my job is to tell you guys when potentially he will be back.

“I have to respect people’s privacy here and people shouldn’t be throwing around rumours and stuff.

“I’m sure you guys wouldn’t like your medical procedures to be played out in the public and players are no different.”

In the past, Ange has thrown surprise names into the lineup if he feels they are ready to take their place. Happening many times before, it would not be a surprise if Kyogo Furuhashi or Callum McGregor made the team.

As things stand, inform Giakoumakis will be leading the line next Wednesday, providing he does not pick up any injures on Saturday. It’s hard not to look past Saturday’s match, three points are as important here as mid-week.

Whatever the outcome may be, Kyogo’s fitness should be the priority and with Giakoumakis fit and firing, maybe Kyogo will not be worth the risk.
