CELTIC manager Ange Postecoglou reassured supporters that Callum McGregor won‘t be adversely affected after sustaining an injury during the team‘s 3–0 victory over Livingston last night.
Celtic fans got quite the scare when they saw the captain down injured and receiving treatment, but after a few minutes he was back on his feet and continued playing.
Despite the knock and a bit of blood, he was able to stay on the pitch and Postecoglou was confident that, even if it was broken, McGregor would be ready to train for the Hoops’ visit to St Johnstone on Sunday.
As quoted by the Daily Record, Ange assured that he loved his players equally and worried when each of them go down injured. He said:
“Was I worried? I am worried about all of them, mate. I love them all the same. I don’t want any of them to get hurt. But we realised fairly early that he had got a bang on the nose and a bit of blood was coming out.
“But it was nothing to worry about, he was fine. Was it broken? I didn’t ask him, I wouldn’t ask him. If he did he would be up there tomorrow for training, no problem.”
Cal doesn’t have much luck when it comes to facial injuries!
Hopefully it’s nothing that will keep him out of the team as Ange says, and he’ll be in the starting eleven on Sunday.
