Former Celtic assistant manager Chris Davies has earned praise from Ange Postecoglou after Davies’ Birmingham side secured promotion to the English Championship on Tuesday night with a 2-1 win against Peterborough away from home.
The Welshman has played his part in Brendan Rodgers’ success at both Celtic and Leicester City, being seen as his right-hand man from 2019 until 2023.
With Ange explaining just how much he enjoyed working with Davies last season.

He said: (BeanymanSports), “I am delighted for him.
“I really enjoyed working with Chris. He was only with me for a short time last year, but I really enjoyed working with him. He was a big part of what we built last year. It was ground zero in terms of building a whole football programme in a different direction and he was a big part of that.
“Your first job is pretty important when you’re trying to embark on a career as a senior manager, and he’s done brilliantly well, which is not surprising.
“I am sure there is more to come from him.
“Like I said, he was great with us last year, and I was more than pleased for him to take his opportunity, and he’s done well with it.”

Davies took a gamble joining Birmingham in the English third tier; however, that has paid off and then some, marking a brilliant start to his managerial career. Having worked so long in the background staff, he has gained a great amount of experience at 40 years old.
